In 2023, Kailee was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. Despite several optimistic treatments and valiant efforts to fight this terrible disease, the cancer unfortunately spread to her brain, abdomen, liver, and beyond. Kailee was a fighter to her core, determined not to let cancer stop her from continuing to spread joy and goodness to those that loved her. However, God called Kailee home on September 9, 2024, at the age of 36. Throughout her battle, Kailee remained strong, never complaining, and focused on helping others. She wanted to raise awareness and funds for cancer research, and to help other young families affected by the disease.

In honor of Kailee’s legacy, Kailee’s parents Paul and Traci Gavin along with her friends have established Kailee’s Fight Club as a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization to support cancer research and make a positive impact by assisting young families dealing with cancer. Her memory will live on as a beacon of love, strength, and service to others.
